About Pastor Mark Dubbeld
Q. When did you come to Parkway and what events led you here?
A. Pastor Jeff and I go back to High School days and when he began developing the Church Planting vision of 1000, 100, and 10. He called and asked me to join the team for planting a Church in Smith Mountain Lake. We joined the team in the summer of 2005 and began the process of planting EastLake Community Church. Janene and I have been so blessed to be a part of a ministry team committed to winning lost people. We are happy to serve at Parkway, continuing to make an impact in God’s Kingdom.

Q. Where have you come from? What are some of your previous ministry experiences?

A. We moved from Summerfield, Florida in 2005 to Parkway. When Janene and I graduated from College we went into full time Music Evangelism for 7 years. We became Ministers of Music at Martinsville, Indiana at The First Church of the Nazarene for 2 years. In 1999 we felt the call of God to start a Children’s Radio Concept called “Worldwide Kids” helping children become involved in the Great Commission. I was also the Vice President of Media Ministries for EBM International. We came on staff at Parkway in 2005 for planting a new Church in SML.

I am a lyric tenor who is enthusiastic about singing songs of freedom and encouragement to those who are bound in chains of sin and need a Savior. I have been singing full time for more than 25 years in Churches, Concerts, Crusades, Conferences and other special events including the ESPN National Pro Fishing Tournament, and National Day of Prayer.

Q. Tell us about your family.
A. Our family consists of Vincent 19 yrs, Leighton 16 yrs, Elena 14 yrs, Channing 9 yrs and Britton 5 yrs. We are so blessed by our children and their heart for God and the ministry.

Q. What are your major responsibilities at Parkway? (Tell us what you do).

A. My duties include working in the music and worship ministries, coordinating special music, media & sound, and serving as soloist when needed.

Q. What excites you most about your ongoing ministry here?

A.  I am so excited to be part of a winning ministry team. It is awesome to see lives being transformed by the power of Christ on a weekly basis.

Q. Name one highlight over the past five years. Your favorite Parkway moment.
A. I think of one of the most exciting services we had at Camp in 2005. Rex Bullock was preaching at the camp and the power of God was so at work that week. It was wonderful to know lives were changed forever in that camp. Planting the EastLake Church was a great experience as well.

Q. What are your hobbies/interests? What are some things you especially like to do in your free time?
A. My time is spent with family and being the best Dad I can be. I like Sports, Politics, and connecting with people in mentorship programs.

Q. What is your favorite food?

A. Memphis BBQ, Steak & Pink Stuff (you will have to ask Janene for the recipe).

Q. What book(s) have you read recently that you'd like to recommend? Do you have a favorite book?

A. The Word of God, “The Go Getter” a great book about being all you can be for God’s glory.

Q. What do you anticipate in the near future?

A. The future is very exciting because I have committed my way to God and I know with Him leading He will always open every door. God is always up to great things and it is wonderful to be a small part of His big plan.
