Our Mission, Ministry, and Vision.
The Parkway House of Prayer Hispanic Ministry's Mission is to reach out to the hispanic community in the Roanoke Valley area, by offering English classes and an 11am worship service Sunday morning.
We are currently teaching three levels of English as a second language. We now average 50 students, from the countries of El Salvador, Mexico, Columbia and Honduras. These classes are offered on Wednesday nights at 7p.m. Transportation, refreshments and childcare services are provided. The classes are free of charge.
Another way we are making contacts and building relationships is by offering interpretation for medical and legal situations. Our anticipation is that God -willing this ministry will develop into an hispanic church plant that will minister to the spiritual needs of the growing hispanic communities of this area.
The Hispanic Ministry's Coordinator is Dave Calhoun. For more information please call 540-529-4101

*Update*
God is continuing to bless our new Hispanic church located at the corner of Gus Nicks and King Street. Our English classes are back in session on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm and Pastor Dave Calhoun and his team are leading worship on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. If you would like more information about our Hispanic ministry, please contact the church office @ 982-0115.
History of the Hispanic Ministry
* In June of 2004 there was a need to start English classes for Hispanics.
* Our pastor approved starting the classes and our first class started with six Hispanics; one from Mexico, three from El Salvador and two from Columbia.
* We grew from Basic English class into an Intermediate and Advanced English with an average of 40-50 students every Wednesday night.
