Our Administrative Assistant-Linda Thompson
Q. When did you come to Parkway and what events led you here?
A. My family and I came in 1999 when Pastor Steve Parker was here. My entire family attended Parkway at this time and we wanted to be here for that reason.
Q. Where have you come from? What are some of your previous ministry experiences?
A. I come from a small church family of less than 50 most of my church life. I have played the piano, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School over the years.
Q. Tell us about your family.
A. My husband, Rick and I have been married 20 years. He is my best friend and I love him with all my heart. We have 4 children: Jason (27) married to Amanda; Faith (23) planning a July 08 wedding to Travis Peters; Matt (19); Melanie (16) our baby. Jason has given us 4 grandchildren: Sara, Andrew, Alex, and Jonathan.
Q. What are your major responsibilities at Parkway? (Tell us what you do).
A. I am Pastor Jeff's administrative assistant. My job description states "whatever Pastor Jeff deems necessary" as my first objective.
Q. What excites you most about your ongoing ministry here?
A. Watching God work in people's lives, seeing how He can take a messed up life and make it something beautiful. The future God is leading us torward.
Q. Name one highlight over the past five years. Your favorite Parkway moment.
A. The moment that changed my life was when my husband got saved. He was Pastor Jeff's first male convert in 2000. That's been over 5 years ago but it changed our lives so significantly that it still is my favorite.
Q. What are your hobbies/interests? What are some things you especially like to do in your free time?
A. I love to read, mostly spiritual books. I love being with my family, maybe preparing a meal for all of us to relax and enjoy being together. I love being with people, enjoy living, and thrilled to be a Christian.
Q. What is your favorite food?
A. I really like most everything, but one of my favorite meals is fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. For dessert peach pie with ice cream.
Q. What book(s) have you read recently that you'd like to recommend. Do you have a favorite book?
A. "What Every Christian Ought to Know" by Adrian Rogers is a great book. My favorite book is definitely the Bible. It calms my fears, reveals God's love to me and for me.
Q. What do you anticipate in the near future?
A. God is going to use this church to continue to bring the gospel to all who will believe. I want to do my part.
