Dear Friends,
Greetings from the Philippines!
Though we seldom do so, circumstances compel us to share some pressing ministry needs with you. We trust that you will give thoughtful consideration to them and as the Lord enables you we pray that many of you will be used of the Lord to lighten our ministry burdens.
As you can well imagine in a work like this there is no end to the “legitimate” requests for help, but we can assure you that today we only sharing those needs we feel are most compassionate or strategic to the ongoing proclamation of the Gospel here. Thanks for your understanding! Many of you have expressed a desire to share in this ministry in a more specific way, and this list will help guide your decisions. Maybe your youth group, adult SS class or church as a whole would get involved in an organized fund raising challenge.
If you want more information about a need mentioned here please feel free to ask. If the Lord gives you the heart and the means to share with one or more of these needs please mark your contribution clearly and send it to our BMC Missions Treasurer, Monte Stetler, at P.O. Box 18128, Erlanger, KY 41018. May the Lord richly bless you!
- Alibagu Center for Evangelism and Discipleship – The steel trusses are going up as I write, but a lot more funds are still needed in order to complete the roof and 9,000 square foot slab.
- Wells – Right now there are three or four churches that need help digging a deep well. One pastor’s family has been quite sick in recent months because (as they have discovered) their current shallow well is contaminated. Cost for one well – $250.00
- Parsonages – At this time we have three churches without a parsonage. Here they are:
Ø Lanang BMC – Jabez Conference - $1,200.00 (these faithful members have had their wood cut and other materials gathered for over two years but we just haven’t had the means to help with the construction)
Ø Uduyau BMC – Ebenezer Conference - $1,200.00
Ø Sangit BMC – Ebenezer Conference - $1,200.00
- Joshua Conference Pioneering Church building – For the past two years Joshua Conference has been planting a new church along the coast in Cagayan Province. This represents a brand new area for us! The new believers here are saving and preparing to build, but will definitely need our help - $3,000.00 - $4,000.00
- Pigs for summer camp 2008! – Eight pigs at $100.00 each
- Rice for pastors families going through some crisis months (in between harvests) - $20 per 100lbs. Whatever is given we will share. By the way, a family of four consumes 100lbs of rice per month!
- Medical funds – Because of the many recent emergencies and surgical procedures our medical fund is now nearly empty. Anything you can do will be a blessing. Thanks again to those who have already given to the needs of pastor Now-it and pastor Forto.
Thanks so much for your prayers and for being a part in the ongoing vision of training and church planting here in the Philippines. The Lord is establishing us! The Holy Spirit is working in some wonderful ways! We’ll be sharing more real soon.
Yours for the Harvest,
Tim and Becky Keep, (with the blessing of our General Missions Secretary, Rev. John Parker)
